it's a tight-knit community in this southwestern connecticut town. and even though you can't really get a sense of it now, it is one of the more picturesque places i'm standing in. rolling green hills and quite an affluent neighborhood, two and three-story homes. the thinking is people moved to this area because of the school systems. so it strikes a particular chord that this occurred within an elementary school. but then you also have that other side, the talk of this woman, nancy lanza, who collected guns, some high-powered weapons as in that bushmaster that was used in the elementary school shooting. it's not clear whether she attended some of the shooting ranges in the area although we know there are at least three shooting ranges within a 20-mile range of this area. one of the workers that i spoke to at a local business here said that she often showed her rifle -- showed a rifle that she had recently purchase and even brought her children target shooting. not clear if that occurred at those ranges or just in and around the area. atf and federal

i think you need to know that the connecticut s.p.a. office has approved $6.7 million in disaster assistance for struggling business in connecticut as well as residents. that figure is significant but there are a large number of requests for funding that is still being processed. therefore, a large number of homeowners and small businesses that need assistance their request for assistance, quite frankly, are still in the pipeline and we would appreciate even quicker attention and processing of them. nearly a month after hurricane sandy many connecticut residents are still waiting to hear if they are able to repair their storm-damaged homes. and small businesses are waiting to find out if they will have enough capital to retour their businesses to the pre- disaster conditions. they put their lives and their livelihoods back on track, they deserve to have that opportunity and i hope that the supplement will be approved quickly with the additional $250 million that will be able to service these loans as quickly as possible. i appreciate yo
